The 2nd Globosat Writers Program was composed of two stages: the first brought the master of screenplays, Robert McKee, in Seminar GENRE. The second featured presentations and discussions on the “Master Classes and panels of Brazilian Television”. There were more than 3,000 entries for the event, promoted Rio Othon Palace in Copacabana, to 350 participants. The program had the majority share of writers and also with professionals in the entertainment industry.
For four days from 23 to 26 January 2014, McKee spoke about scripts thrillers, comedy, drama and also on TV series, including “Breaking Bad,” “Dexter,” “Fri and the City” “Nurse Jackie”, “Six Feet Under” and “The Sopranos.”
For the first time in Rio de Janeiro, Scott Buck (showrunner of “Dexter”) and Darren Star (“Fri and the City”) ministered Master Classes and told details of creating two of the most successful series worldwide.
To compose the programming meetings with Hollywood writers were preceded by three “panels of Brazilian Television”, which gathered some of the top talent in the national script. The event took place on 19 and 20 February.
